This Bottled Water has Been Brought Home, 2022

Why can’t we cast eternity in concrete?
Why can’t a laboratory give birth to a mountain spring?
What resides within the stone?
What do we drink when we drink mineral water?

I used to work part-time in a Japanese store located in Berlin and my job was to sell toners from Japan. The first thing I did at every work day was to turn on the display that showed an advertisement to publicise how the toner had been transported from Japanese mountains to Germany.

This work is a monument documenting the reverse process of sending the bottled water back to its home. Thus questioning the arbitrary value attribution process of our perception of objects.
